Spring Cleaning and RV Maintenance Check list

 

 

RV Maintenance Checklist

External

o Jacks – locked up or stowed
o Chocks – removed and stowed
o Lights – ensure they are working properly
o Rig – remove from levelers
o Tires – check tire pressure
o Awnings – rolled up and secured
o Heaters – water and gas heaters
off
o Chairs – put away
o Satellite – stowed
o Hoses – caps in place
o Electric – disconnect
unnecessary wiring
o Cable – pack and stow power
cables
o Water Pressure – remove
regulator
o Steps – fold and stow
o Compartments – locked shut

Internal

o Furnace – turn off
o Water pump – turn off
o Refrigerator – clean out, turn off
o Pilot lights – turn off
o Antenna – lowered
o Water heater – turn off
o Windows and vents – closed
o Cabinets – closed and locked
o Bathroom – shower door closed,
loose items put away
o Entry door – closed and locked
o Trash cans – emptied and stowed
Monthly
o Generator – run for 2 hours
o Batteries – topped off
o Air conditioning – vacuum vents
o Engine – check hoses and clamps
o Fluid levels – inspect fluid
o Toolbox – refill RV toolkit
o Detectors – test smoke and CO
o Tires – check pressure and
sidewalls
o Undercarriage – look for cracks
o Slide outs – lubricate
o Moisture seals – check for cracks
Semi-Annual
o Deep clean
o Wax
o Water heater – check filter
o Metals – lubricate hitch, leveling
jacks and steps
o Damage – exterior inspection
Annual
o Log – update maintenance log
o Heating and cooling – tune
systems
o Tires, belts, brakes, hoses –
inspect, tune, and repack wheel
bearings
o Propane – inspect system
o Seals – inspect all seals including
roof and vents
o Detector batteries – install new
batteries in detectors
o TV antenna – lubricate
o Radiator – check coolant
